At Steven Thorn Therapy Psychotherapy, we understand that life can be difficult and that everyone faces challenges at some point. Our compassionate therapists are here to help you navigate those challenges and find healing and hope. We offer a collaborative and personalized approach to therapy, which includes evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and trauma-informed care. We specialize in helping clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues, among others. Our goal is to help you build resilience, gain insight, and develop the tools you need to thrive.

You may have arrived here out of curiosity, hope or as a last resort. Perhaps you're trying to overcome barriers, living in a never-ending circle, not moving in the direction you want to, going round and round.
These blockages might be clear to you or perhaps you can’t put them into words...but what you do know is...‘this just doesn’t feel right’.
It’s affecting many or all aspects of your life.
Feelings of not being seen, heard or understood by friends, family, partners, tutors, colleagues - or even counsellors, where things just didn’t seem the right fit. Not understanding these feelings or why you are repeating the same patterns of behaviour over and over again - never getting anywhere, never getting over it, never feeling free - all preventing you from moving forwards.
You might be very aware of the experiences, events, emotions and relationships causing you pain and holding you back, recovering from and/or still experiencing abuse, bereavement, addiction, trauma including toxic relationships and sexual trauma, experiencing major life changes or loneliness, work place negativity and rejection, curiosity about sexuality and/or gender - all of these and any aspect at all, seemingly large or seemingly small, can affect your whole being, self-esteem and ability just to function - whether they occurred in the past or they’re happening right now as you read this, blocking you, preventing you from moving on and living a life you can only dream of.
You may experience the world differently to how other people live; not processing things the way they do, being missed by people who just don’t seem to ‘get’ you and on the other hand, you always seem to notice actual, real things that seem to pass by other people’s awareness.
Perhaps you’re living with a diagnosis reflecting this, or perhaps you’re starting to wonder why it feels like this...all the time - maybe there's more to why you are struggling to cope with living like this. It’s more than anxiety or overwhelm – these racing thoughts getting in the way of your whole life...sometimes creeping up on you when you didn’t notice and at the worst possible times, making life events difficult to manage and breaking your identity. All the while, you know you're more than capable - you just don’t seem to fit in with the constraints of conformity...whatever that means.
Whether or not some of this sounds familiar, I believe one thing is certain...the person who knows most about what’s happened and continues to happen to you...is you.
The challenge of all this knowledge in itself can be too much to deal with - how and where to start to unravel it all might seem like a mountain to climb.
It’s a needle in a haystack.
If you’re reading this far, you may have already taken the first step. You can choose what’s next for you (or 'us’, in deciding if you might like to work together).
I believe you have the power to grow towards a direction that’s meant for you if it feels like you’ve tried everything and still see no change in how you are processing things. My experience of working with clients informs me change is possible for all if the conditions are right.
There’s no doubt in my mind you already have the tools you need...we just need to see if we can find those tools together - working on which ones are useful for your growth in a new direction.

As a licensed psychotherapist with over 15 years of experience, I specialize in family therapy and helping clients navigate difficult life transitions. I also have extensive training in mindfulness-based therapy.

After you’ve had a chance to think about contacting me and having had a look around and contacted me with a message as brief as you’d like, I can and look to set up an introductory 30 minute online meeting, either video or audio - or an in person and paid for session if that is what you’d prefer. An online introductory meeting is with no cost, as like anything else, I’d like you to see how you feel about what is on offer before committing to paying for it – just like any other product or service.
Sessions last for 50 minutes and are usually at the same time on the same day, online or in person at my practice. It’s £80 per session, payable in advance.
We can each see what it might be like to work together, deciding if this is something we could look more closely in to together to work with one another. It may be that you or I feel someone else might be better suited to what might work for you, in which case, I might be able to suggest an alternative therapist who might offer a different fit to me.
